These words describe the Roaring Twenties - when high-priced investment products flooded the marketplace - and our founders believed clients deserved a new kind of investment firm.Navix Financial was founded with the goal of putting clients' interests first through a focused set of investment strategies designed to preserve and enhance their investment capital over the long term and offered at reasonable and transparent fees. These principles still guide our firm more than 25 years later.
We have built our firm to withstand periods of turbulence on the bedrock of independent ownership, financial strength, a commitment to active, value-oriented investing, and a deep belief in the power of fundamental research, diverse perspectives, and teamwork. Our culture emphasizes our fiduciary responsibility to our clients and Fund shareholders above all else.
Since our founding, we have globalized the depth and breadth of our research, the strategies we
offer, and the clients we serve. What has not changed is our belief that the combination of deep
fundamental research, a long-term investment horizon, and a valuation discipline can produce
attractive long-term investment results for our clients.
Throughout our history, we have aligned our interests with our clients to develop strong, lasting
relationships. Our steadfast focus on investment excellence enables us to apply our value-oriented
investment philosophy consistently across all of our offerings.
We are grateful for the confidence our clients have placed in our firm and our people. If you're an
existing client or Fund shareholder, we look forward to continuing to help you meet your investment
goals. If we have not worked with you, we hope you'll give us the opportunity to discuss your
investment goals and how our value-oriented approach can help you achieve them.
Navix Financial were disillusioned with the conflicts of interest embedded in the investment world of 1930 and saw an opportunity to create a new kind of asset management firm. One deliberately designed to put clients and community before itself. One with a simple business model focused entirely on pursuing investment excellence. One built on a bedrock of independent ownership, integrity, and team stability - so it could serve our clients not just for decades, but for generations. From our roots in San Francisco, Navix Financial has become one of the largest independently owned investment firms in the world. We manage money for individuals and institutions globally with a single investment philosophy applied across a focused set of offerings. Undistracted by short-term product trends, advertising, or sales targets, we focus on what matters most - helping people realize their investment goals by deeply mastering the complexity of investing. It means all our resources honing fewer strategies. More passion driving fewer priorities. More confidence backing every decision. We believe deeply in what we do and invest our own savings alongside our clients' assets.
Our approach to responsibility
We are committed to operating in a way that creates long-term value for our stakeholders, benefits
society and actively addresses any adverse impacts our activities have on society, people and the
environment. This means understanding the environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues that
matter to them and to our business. The pillars of our programme - responsible investment, our
people, society and communities, and our environmental impact - position us to influence the trends
we face as an investor and as an active member of the societies and communities in which we
operate.
We have a clear understanding of who we are as a business and are committed to thinking, acting and
investing responsibly. This includes putting in place strong governance foundations to hold us to
account. Alongside clear accountability we will set targets, track and monitor our progress and
transparently report against our commitments in a timely manner.
We recognise that we cannot achieve our aims alone. Through selected partnerships we will work to
deliver action and continually challenge ourselves around the issues that we can materially
impact.
For generations, Navix Financial has been entrusted to manage and preserve our clients' wealth. Our
tradition of investing and acting responsibly will continue to lead us forward. As we look to the
future, we will further engage with our stakeholders to ensure our approach contin
Great businesses are built on the back of many great ideas. That is why we've built Navix
Financial
on solid cultural foundations that encourage open conversations between people at all levels of
the firm irrespective of title or background. This respect for others' viewpoint ensures that
differences of opinion are respected and ultimately help drive better collective decisions. Ours
has never been a firm of star names or big egos, we recognize that the best partnerships with
management are built on trust and mutual respect
We see it as our responsibility to invest for everyone's tomorrow. That means doing the right
thing for our clients and for others too. Keeping the future in mind when we make decisions
today. Looking beyond the short term for the most sustainable outcome. This is how we build
enduring value for our clients, make a wider contribution to society and create a lasting
legacy. Thinking, acting and investing responsibly.

Our integrated teams of seasoned operational professionals take an active role in maximizing the performance of our assets and businesses.
Across market cycles, we have built an expertise in executing large, creative transactions and managing ongoing growth projects to drive value..
Through our business we aim to add value not only to our clients but also to the societies and
communities in which we operate. During the pandemic, many of our stakeholders, from small
businesses to the charities we support, have experienced considerable disruption and challenges.
As was the case in 2020, we continued to uphold our responsibility to these stakeholders which,
in many cases, has evolved.
With nearly 2,000 people across 15 UK locations and Jersey and with over $68 billion of funds
under management, we recognise the role we can play in being a positive influence on society –
whether through our decisions as a business or through giving our clients peace of mind, knowing
we consider more than just financial returns when we invest on their behalf.
Thinking, acting and investing responsibly applies just as strongly to our role in society as it
does to our approach to investment.
We work with regulators, partners, suppliers and communities to understand their aims and
ambitions, working to align our approach to best practice across our programmes
At Navix Financial, we recognise our responsibility to contribute to the transition and we are
focused on measuring and reducing our operational footprint as well as that of our investment
portfolios. It is our responsibly to understand how every cog in the Navix Financial wheel is
affecting the planet. For our clients, we have a responsibility to understand how climate change
may impact our portfolios and what we can do to minimise the risks, be they physical or
transitional. We believe that to deliver our best for our stakeholders we must, think, act and
invest responsibly. One aspect of this is our 2021 commitment to achieve net zero emissions
across the group by 2050 or sooner.
Navix Financial strives to invest 'for everyone's tomorrow'. 'Everyone' includes our people.
Investing in support, equipment and a positive working environment enhances wellbeing, career
development and service standards. Having faced a second COVID-disrupted year, our priority has
continued to be ensuring our employees' safety and wellbeing.
We are a people business, so it is imperative that our strategy sets a culture that drives
performance and builds long, rewarding careers for our colleagues. Based around a common set of
corporate values and a commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion, we are focused on
leveraging the talent in our business, as we develop more career paths, build leadership skills
and manage succession.
The next decade will be a transformational one for Navix Financial, as we recruit and develop a new,
diverse generation of talent, for a new world of work. This is essential for three reasons.
Firstly, we passionately believe that greater diversity will further strengthen our open, inclusive
culture. Secondly, diverse teams ask better questions and therefore help us make better investment
decisions.
Lastly, it is the right thing to do.
We are making positive change globally across Navix Financial's offices, within our portfolio
companies
and in the communities in which we operate.
At the portfolio level, we are working alongside management to drive initiatives to enhance
diversity in our investee companies, as recently demonstrated through our collaboration with Harvard
Business School on the Advent Leadership Academy, which aims to provide high-potential diverse
leaders at our portfolio companies with the knowledge and skills to accelerate their professional
development.
In our communities we are working with organizations that are directly involved in helping to
improve cohesion and support traditionally marginalized groups.

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
Navix Financial by design attracts individuals who share a passion for investing and who thrive
in an
environment of rigorous analysis, challenging dialogue, and professional and personal respect.
In a testament to the strength of the culture we have built - honed by more than 80 years of
markets and countless "once-in-a-lifetime" events - these professionals have tended to stay with
the firm, stability that over time drives results and consistency of process.
Our portfolio managers have worked in asset management for more than 25 years on average, most
of it at Navix Financial. And while our clients benefit from the wisdom of our seasoned
professionals, we are always looking to supplement their ranks with emerging talent; by enabling
the transfer of knowledge, providing growth opportunities for skilled investors and building
thoughtful succession plans, we seek to ensure a consistent client experience over the long
term.
Communication is important and we provide you with timely information. We believe in clear and
straightforward reporting through regular portfolio valuations. You can ask us to email or post
to you an up-to-date valuation at any time. You can also access your portfolio 24 hours a day
through our secure online portal.
We have invested in our ability to monitor how your investments perform. The sophisticated,
market-leading software that we use enables us to provide you with comprehensive performance
data and portfolio information. Our systems also enable investment managers to manage tax issues
that may arise in your portfolio and prepare the information needed for tax returns
Given the flexibility enjoyed by our investment managers, effective oversight is very
important.
As well as the monitoring of investment performance by our investment executive committee, which
ensures that returns are satisfactory and consistent with the levels of risk being taken,
investment managers also have regular peer reviews for suitability to ensure their portfolios
reflect the individual client's investment requirements and attitude to risk.
A Centralized Resource, a Firm-wide Responsibility
Risk management has been central to Navix Financial's investment culture since our founding in
1939.
As an employee-owned manager, everyone at Navix Financial is invested in identifying and
managing
risk - risk to our clients, risk to our portfolios, risk to our reputation.
We believe that fostering an environment of strong internal control is vital.
To this end, we have established a rigorous risk management framework that features dedicated
investment and operational risk teams who work to protect client assets and our reputation.
Our risk professionals act as an independent complement to each investment team's portfolio
construction process, driving investment and operational risk reviews in collaboration with
other control units of the firm, such as information technology, operations, legal and
compliance, asset management guideline oversight and internal audit.
With our Chief Risk Officer reporting directly to Navix Financial's Chief Executive Officer, our
risk
management structure is enhanced by an ability to escalate issues as necessary to firm
leadership as well as our fund boards and firm board of directors.
